Neighbors celebrate Slow Hearst

The Slow Hearst kickoff party was a huge success! Thank you to the hundreds of neighbors and families who came out on a beautiful August day to celebrate D7’s only Slow Street. Here are a few highlights from the afternoon.

Neighbor Ian Ratzer’s Hearst Ave All-Stars band serenaded us with jazz standards, including our new official neighborhood song: “On the Sunny Side of the Street”

And Mr. Softee showed up to cap off the afternoon with ice cream for everyone. 

Kids from across the neighborhood joined us for games and water balloons
